Broad, Phrase or Exact?

The beauty of internet marketing is that there is such an opportunity for success, it’s just a case of finding out what works for you.

Regular readers are aware by now that the search query triggers a keyword that you have used within your campaign and an impression is consequently created.

With the keyword match types: broad, phrase and exact, you can utilise your internet marketing prowess.

  • Broad match keywords cause your adverts to appear when a search query keyword is of a similar nature to yours.
  • Phrase match keywords means the characters selected by the advertiser must be included in part of the search query.
  • Exact match keywords is an identical match to the search query, and therefore is the most precise keyword type.

All in all, fairly self explanatory stuff. Using different match types can have a huge variance on your impressions and CTR rates; therefore it’s a case of trying and testing match types frequently to determine what makes you ads a success.
