If you haven’t yet caught sight of Google’s Next Big Thing it’s called The Wave. You can view the introductory presentation here: http://wave.google.com.
It’s all terribly exciting, a revolution in communications etc. You mix email and instant messaging and document sharing and it changes your life by – err, not sure on that bit yet actually.
I can see this being like social networks; it’s the next big thing and a subset of your contacts will join and you can wave at them at will. Meantime you have to treat the rest of the people you need to communicate with as individuals and work out how they want to be reached. So the herd move from Facebook and Twitter on to TheWave and I still have to write thank you notes to my Aunt on paper.
I can’t wait to see what XKCD says about The Wave.
