Increases in search marketing spend

In a previous Gillissa Blog Post, I discussed the positive predictions for Online Advertising, over the next five years.

Despite its ever-increasing popularity as a primary means of advertising, online marketing was affected by the recession.

Last year, the advertising spend in search engine marketing dropped as the financial constraints emerged.

However much the economic climate had an effect on online advertising, the third quarter of 2009 has seen an overall 5% increase in total search engine marketing spend.

These figures suggest that online marketing is recovering effectively from the recession and beginning to prosper.

David Karnstedt, the CEO and President of Efficient Frontier states “The third quarter results and a look beyond provide some encouraging signs for the search marketing industry as well as the overall economy”.

It is of little surprise that Karnstedt believes the last quarter of 2009 and the first of 2010 are critical periods for all involved with online advertising.
