Within an ad group, you have the ability to use multiple ad formats, to advertise your product through various means. But what are they?

  • The common ad format is the text format, which appears when a search query triggers a keyword included in the advertiser’s campaign.
  • Image ads only appear on the content sites of the Google network, yet can be animated or static.
  • Video ads again appear on select content sites in the Google Network, as well as Google Video.
  • Local Business Ads appear on both Google Maps and on the Google search network, when targeted for a specific geographical location.
  • Mobile ads only work for country or territory targeted campaigns, and appear in the form of text.

The various ad formats consequently create a vast array of marketing opportunity. This enables the advertiser to specify the advertising format that they believe will generate the greatest e-commerce success.
